PANIC

Panic is often your body's way of sending an urgent signal that something in your life needs to be repaired. Like fears, the cause can be conscious or subconscious. Since the symptoms resemble organic illness, we suggest a medical checkup first.

When panic occurs unexpectedly and repeatedly it can have some of the following symptoms:

    Difficult or rapid breathing
    Palpitations
    Dizziness
    Fainting
    Choking or smothering feelings
    Chest pains
    Fear of dying, illness or impending doom
    Hot or cold flashes
    Clammy hands
    Tingling or burning sensations
    Trembling
    Shaking
    Sweating
    Stuttering

The feeling is inside, but outside your control.

The sporadic timing of panic attacks can lead to a fear of a fear. If your first panic attack strikes you at the grocery store, the fear of being in the grocery store may cause another attack so you avoid the grocery store. A panic attack is absolutely frightful. Someone who has not experienced the fear has difficulty understanding.
